New Year’s Eve 2010

We had a fun New Year’s Eve.  My mother-in-law came over.  My sister-in-law and her family came in from Iowa.  Our college kid and her boyfriend were here.  The three little girls (okay, our 3 18-year olds) worked but were home in time to ring in the New Year.

We had lots of food.  We played cards.  And we danced.

The hit of the evening was playing Just Dance 2 on the Wii.  We played it for 5 straight hours.  Well, a few of us just watched.  Some people know better than to make total fools of themselves.

This is my cute nephew from Iowa.  I keep trying to get him to move in with us.  He has some good moves for a 4th grader.

I am happy to report that he did not bring any weaponry to our house this trip.

My husband and his sister danced to Proud Mary.

My sister-in-law was Sunny (score = 1,642) and my husband was Baby (score = 382).

She took dance lessons for many years.  My husband, well, he played sports.

My husband needed to take Just Dance 2 lessons from the teenagers who figured out how to score points by making sure that the hand holding the remote did all the correct moves.

It really didn’t matter what the rest of your body did.  But watching my husband dance you would have thought you scored points by movin’ your bootie.  And move it, he did.  Hilarious.

The last time I saw this move was on his 40th birthday.  When he danced to YMCA at 3:00 a.m.

It was not pretty.

I’m going to have to dig out those pictures . . .
