My nephew is the drummer in a local band, So Much Closer. He loves playing the drums, and he’s been in a few bands over the years. This past year, they played in a number of local venues, and they released a CD.
The REALLY big news is that they played at The Pageant. This is a really hip place where many of the up and coming local bands sometimes get a chance to play, but they also book big name bands that travel across the country. In other words, not the type of place that you ever find an older, mother of five with a Q-tip head.
My husband and middle child went to his gig (see, how hip is that!) at The Pageant. My sister sent me some pictures from her phone, but the place was dark and smoky and the pictures were just too grainy for me to post process into anything decent enough to share. So I did the next best thing and “borrowed” a picture from his Facebook page.
I don’t know if you can tell this or not, but apparently my nephew plays WITHOUT a shirt on. All the better to see all those hip tattoos and body piercings, I suppose.
This was last Thanksgiving. He is one of only a few boy cousins in the family.
He had gotten his *ahem* nipples pierced, and we were all giving him a hard time.
He’s such a good sport!
Here he is with my sister last summer. You can catch a glimpse of the tattoo on his arm.
Here’s what he posted on his Facebook page about playing at The Pageant, “Well… That’s one life goal I can check off the ol’ list.” How cool is that to be able to check off a major bucket list item when you are in your 20s?
