A few months ago, I went out to lunch with some friends from high school to a great soul food restaurant in St. Louis, MO, called Sweetie Pie’s at the Mangrove.
While we were there, OWN was filming for the second season of Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s. We were included in the filming and hope that we have our 15 seconds of fame on the show this season!
One of my friends, Martha, brought some White Chocolate Party Mix to share with us. She had an extra bag which she shared with the staff of Sweetie Pie’s, and it was a hit! Later in the week, Martha took another batch into Miss Robbie, the owner, who was going to save it for their Christmas party.
I thought I would share Martha’s recipe with you by preparing it for Easter using Spring colored M&Ms. I know this is a really popular recipe and many people have it in their recipe boxes already, but we now have a story to share along with the recipe so we hope you enjoy it!
Martha’s White Chocolate Party Mix ingredients.
I see this snack served around the Christmas holidays a lot using red and green colored M&Ms.
Combine the dry ingredients in a very large bowl.
Melt the white chocolate with the oil and stir until completely smooth.
Pour over the dry ingredients and stir to coat all of the dry ingredients.
Spread the mixture over three large cookie sheets lined with waxed paper. Allow to cool completely. Break up into smaller pieces and store in an airtight container.
The sweet and salty mix of flavors makes this an addictive snack. Once you start eating some, you cannot stop!
Make and enjoy this yummy snack soon!
