I’m not talking about the part where our hair turns gray (or white in my case).
I’m not talking about the part where our bodies sag, we get age spots and wrinkles, and we have flaps of skin on our arms that remind us of wings.
I’m not talking about the part where our bodies ache, and doctor appointments include tests on our bodies that we’d rather not think about.
I’m talking about the part where we learn that a loved one has a terrible illness and all your plans together will now be different.
My dear, sweet brother-in-law, my Irish Twin sister’s husband has learned he has cancer.
He will fight. We will fight with him. And I’m just going to say – Cancer Sucks.
This is a wake-up call for us that we need to live life now instead of deferring all of our plans for fun and trips and other dreams to the future.
In the meantime, we’re planning a trip together.
