What’s Cookin’ – Crab on English Muffins

I ran across the following appetizer recipe about 20 years ago, and it is one of my favorites.  It is easy to make and not an item that you see around that often.  I made these for Super Bowl Sunday, and everyone in my family enjoyed them.

The ingredients – English muffins, butter, Old English cheese spread, garlic salt or powder, seasoned salt, mayonnaise, and crab meat.

Split the English muffins and place on a sheet pan or other dish that you can place under the broiler.

Throw the rest of the ingredients into a bowl and mix together until well blended.

Note: I was burning daylight when I was making these so some of my photographs will have a lot of yellow in them.  It is best to photograph food in natural light without a flash.  I tried to compensate with some post processing, but some are just not that pretty.  Mea culpa.

Mixture ready to spread onto the English muffin halves.

English muffins ready to pop under the broiler.  At this point, you can freeze them for later.  Allow to thaw and broil before serving.

These are best served immediately, but they are also good slightly cooled.  You may cut each piece into quarters to make nice bite sized portions.  Cheesy.  Buttery.  Goodness.
